Splendida veduta animata della Cascata delle Marmore a Terni incisa a Roma da Carlo Antonini (1740-1821) su un soggetto di Jacop Philipp Hackert (1737-1807). In basso lunga dedica al Papa Pio VI firmata da Francesco Carrara che nel 1779 presentò al Papa una dissertazione dedicata alle Cascate intitolata "La caduta del Velino nella Nera". Papa Pio VI regnò dal 1775 al 1799 ed è questo presumibilmente il periodo di stampa di questa incisione. Antonini, operativo a Roma nella seconda metà del settecento, ottenne importanti incarichi ufficiali lavorando per la calcografia della Camera Apostolica, in particolare eseguendo ritratti di Cardinali e carte delle Paludi Pontine. L'incisione è stata incollata su un cartoncino. In the lower edge long dedication to the Pope Pio VI signed by Francesco Carrara who in 1779 introduced tot the Pope a dissertation dedicated to Cascades titled "La caduta del Velino nella Nera". The Pope Pio VI reigned from 1775 to 1799 and this is probably the period of publishing of this engraving.Antonini, active in Rome in the second half of XXth century, obtained important charges working for the calcografia of Camera Apostolica, in particular making portrait of Cardinals and maps of Paludi Pontine.
