Burlap covered hardcover with a sealing wax stamp of Dean & Son on the front cover and green silk strips on the front and spine. The first and last pages are secured in the gutters with Japanese tissue paper. Large parts of the front and rear dust wrappers are present. A very unusual children's book. No publication date but probably 1920s when interest in Egyptian archaeology was intense after Howard Carter's discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun.
