This book, a collection of extracts from the parish registers of the Shropshire town of Much Wenlock, dating from the reign of Elizabeth I, offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives and experiences of ordinary people living in England during the 16th and 17th centuries. The entries, meticulously transcribed from the original records, provide a rich tapestry of information about baptisms, marriages, and burials, as well as insights into the social, economic, and religious life of the community. Through these records, we witness the rhythms of everyday existence, the joys and sorrows of families, and the occasional moments of historical significance. The book not only sheds light on the specific history of Much Wenlock but also contributes to our understanding of the broader social and cultural landscape of early modern England. It illuminates themes of community, mortality, and the role of the Church in everyday life, offering valuable insights into the experiences of ordinary people during a period of significant change and upheaval. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
