Minimi aloni alla cartonatura, sparse bruniture e aloni, reintegrazioni o restauri a strappi al margine inferiore (talvolta con perdita di alcune lettere di testo) di una carta d'indice, delle pp. 19-22, 209-210. Lavori di tarlo toccanti il testo alle pp. 477 e sgg. Edizione torinese dell'ultimo anno del Cinquecento dei Progymnasmata di Aftonio, retore di Antiochia vissuto nella seconda metà del IV secolo d.C., nella traduzione latina compiuta in parte da Giovanni Maria Cattaneo e in parte dal grande umanista Rudolf (Rodolphus) Agricola, al secolo Roelof Huesman (Baflo, Groningen, 1443-Heidelberg, 1485). In-24°, pp. 376, legatura coeva piena pelle marrone con triplice ordine di filetti a secco lungo il perimetro dei piatti. Tagli a spruzzo. Vignetta xilografica con canestro floreale al titolo. Alcuni fregi tipografici in xilografia. Lievi e uniformi bruniture, lievemente corto di margini, Buon esemplare. Seicentina lionese di questa celebre raccolta di esercitazioni retoriche improntate all'atticismo, forse concepita da Aftonio come introduzione a quella, più avanzata, dell'altro noto retore Ermogene di Tarso.

Brixiae, Apud Societatem Brixiensem, 1602, 8vo (cm. 14,5 x 8,5) in piena pergamena molle coeva con titoli manoscritti al dorso (ma in grafia moderna), tracce dell'esistenza di fettucce (ora assenti), pp. (26), 379, (3) con elaborata vignetta tipografica al frontespizio, ripetuta al colophon, e diversi capolettere xilografici. Legatura un po' sciupata; piccole mancanze al taglio di poche carte, senza perdita di testo; alcune carte un po' brunite. Nel complesso ben conservato. Traduzione latina, già apparsa nel Cinquecento, della celebre raccolta di esercitazioni retoriche di Aftonio (IV sec. d.C.), poi più volte ristampata per i tipi di Elzevier a partire dal 1642. Non comune edizione bresciana. Manca a Graesse.
