Original colour illustrated staple-bound wraps 14x21cm. (20), (20)pp English and Arabic texts with colour photos throughout. Near fine. This was produced by ADNOC and ADCO "in recognition of the help given to them by the Al-Ain Museum in the production of the ADNOC-ADCO film, 'Al Ain'" (inside cover). It is undated but Worldcat states 1990, which is consistent with the date of ADCO's film "A History of Al Ain" (1991). This account was prompted by "a piece of detective work" supported by Sheikh Zayed. It traces the development of copper mining from its beginnings around 5000 years ago, through the Bronze and Iron Ages which saw more sophisticated techniques, to its climax with the arrival of Islam "when the industry was revived after a thousand dormant years and elevated to become a highly profitable and commercial industry". The photos show Museum archaeologists engaged in fieldwork, excavated sites in dramatic surroundings, local artisans, artefacts, and royal portraits. The inner covers feature an aerial view of modern day Al Ain. This appears to be very rare, with Worldcat listing only 3 locations, all UAE (Department of Culture and Tourism, Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, UAEU).
