Hardcover. Condition: As New. 1st Edition. Madrid: Fundacion Mapfre, 2023. Hardcover; 205 pages: illustrations. Exhibition catalog that reproduces a large part of the photographic images that Jules Ainaud took in Catalonia between August 1871 and July 1872 on behalf of the house. J. Laurent from Madrid. The fact that Ainaud worked for the J. Laurent house relegated his name to anonymity. The purpose of this publication is to make his work known, and to put his name at the height it deserves within the history of 19th century photography in Spain. Includes essays by the project's curator, Jep Martí Baiget, and Carlos Teixidor Cadenas, photography curator. Condition: Like New.
