The first complete catalogue of the engravings of Guercino. 581 bw engravings by 130 different engravers, produced from the 1600s to 1800s. With an introductory essay by Alberto Alberghini. Each illustration includes the name of the engraver, the title of the work, and original dimensions. With an alphabetical list of the engravers in back and the corresponding numbers of their respective illustrations. Also laid in are two signed certificates of authenticity from Garisenda Stampe Antiche (Garisenda Prints) of Bologna. One corresponds to Guercino engraving No. 358 (Diana al Bagno) by Giovanni Ottaviani, and the other to engraving No. 111 (Paesaggio con Colline) by James Basire. The illustrations in the book are NOT, however, originals. These certificates give a good amount of information about each of these particular engravings.
