A work on the exploration of Glaicer national park in the 1890s and early 1900s by the author's grandfather, Lyman Beecher Sperry. "Sperry Glacier", was discovered and named after Lyman Sperry. Sperry Glacier has shrunk from over 3 million square meters in a survey done by Sperry in 1901 to under a million square meters when measured again in 2010.
