Die größtenteils zum US-Bundesstaat Alaska gehörende Inselgruppe erstreckt sich bogenförmig am Südrand des nordpazifischen Beringmeers von der Alaska-Halbinsel über rund 1750 Kilometer Länge in Richtung Westen bis zu den russischen Kommandeurinseln.
