A letter thanking the recipient for the invitation to a function. Alexander Hugh Bruce, 6th Lord Balfour of Burleigh, 1849-1921 was a Scottish Unionist politician, banker and statesman, who took a leading part in the affairs of the Church of Scotland. He was Secretary for Scotland between 1895 and 1903. Sir James King, 1st Baronet,1830-1911 was a Scottish businessman who served as Lord Provost of Glasgow 1886 to 1889. He was Director of the Clydesdale Bank for over forty years. He was also Chairman of the Caledonian Railway Company. Size of letter is 187mm x 120mm. Condition is good. Light folding creases.
