For this work, Cunningham carried out excavations across India, over 725 sites. For this reason, he is regarded as the founder of archaeology in India. Cunningham wrote each volume in this set, besides Volume VII and VIII, which were compiled by J. D. Beglar under Cuningham's superintendence.This set contains:Volume VII, 'Report of a Tour in Bundelkhand and Malwa, 1871-72; and in the Central Provinces, 1873-74'. Illustrated with twenty-two plates and maps, five of which are folding.
