Softcover. Condition: Very Good. 96pp stapled booklet in stiff card wraps. 8vo. A little gentle edge wear to card covers, which are a tad faded. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Booklet contains a reprint of the original 1885 publication. The Battle of Langside was fought between the supporters of Mary, Queen of Scots and those of the Regent, James Stuart, Earl of Moray - it resulted in Mary fleeing to England for refuge, from which she never returned. Pallas Armata (literally Armed Athena, and also the title of a 1639 treatise on rapier fencing) was a series of reprints of important period memoirs and historical works published specifically for members of wargaming societies during the 1990s. It was intended to make rare and valuable works widely available at reasonable cost. The series was published by Gareth Simon, himself a wargamer, of Tonbridge in Kent.

Beige cloth sketch book with cloth ties in very good condition with some soiling to boards and rubbing to top and bottom of spine. Scott's ownership book plate to upper pastedown, displaying a crest and motto 'Fidus Et Fortis'. The colour and black & white illustrations are sometimes accompanied by gentle satire remarks from Scott. Scott signs and dates several of the illustrations.
