Add to basketPaper. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. An Original Handwritten and Signed Letter by Scottish Artist English writer Alexander Stuart Boyd. Dated 1916. A letter of sympathy. Alexander Stuart Boyd 1854 - 1930. In 1885 was elected a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours (RSW) and joined the Glasgow Art Club. Boyd started working as a book illustrator in 1884 and over the next three decades illustrated several titles. In 1891 he returned to London and began drawing illustrations and cartoons for Graphic, Punch, Black and White, Idler and many other magazines. Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour in Edinburgh. In 1912 he emigrated to New Zealand where he continued his career as an artist and was elected President of the Auckland Society of Artists. Size is 128mm x 110mm. Condition is good. Light folding crease. Gum residue to rear. Ref 19281. Signed by Author(s).
