Condition: Gut. 34,5 x 28 cm. 3 Bll., 141 Seiten, mit 7 montierten, aquarellierten Tuschezeichnungen, montiert auf dem Titelblatt und auf 5 Bildtafeln. *Alfred von Beckerath (1901-1978) war ein deutscher Komponist und Dirigent. 1925, nach Abschluss seines Studiums in Frankfurt, Freiburg und an der Akademie für Tonkunst in Münche…n (u.a. als Schüler von Joseph Haas), war er als Kapellmeister und Bühnenbildner tätig, neben Halberstadt, Wiesbaden und Frankfurt vor allem in München. Ab 1933 arbeitete er als Musiklehrer in Ambach. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg folgten Beschäftigungen in der Bayerischen Jugendmusik und am "Theater der Jugend" in München. Von 1955 bis 1963 war er musikalischer Leiter des Stadttheaters in Ingolstadt. Sein umfangreiches Oeuvre umfasst Sinfonien, Konzerte, Kantaten, Chorwerke wie auch Sonaten und Opern, zumeist in klassischen Kompositionsmustern. Er zeigt in seinem Werk "stets handwerkliches Können, (das) von herber Klarheit der Harmonik und Melodik gekennzeichnet" ist (Anton Würz). - Sein Nachlass wird in der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek in München verwahrt. Das vorliegende Werk ist dort aber nicht bekannt, und auch KVK verzeichnet keinen Eintrag dazu. - Im Vervielfältigungsverfahren (Blaupause) hergestellte Partitur. Die Dirigierhinweise sind datiert auf den September 1933, die Bilder auf das Jahr 1934. Auf fünf separaten Blättern und auf der Titelseite finden sich insgesamt sieben vom Komponisten geschaffene Bühnenbild-Entwürfe (schwarze Tusche, aquarelliert). Auf einem Vorsatzblatt eine ausführliche eigenhändige Widmung: ".Die Musik hoffe ich trotz des leider auch theaterlich nicht brauchbaren Textes noch anderweitig zum Klingen bringen zu können.". Eine ebenfalls handschriftliche Vorbemerkung gibt Hinweise zur Nutzung der Partitur. - Einband etwas lichtrandig und berieben. Innen aber sauber und gut erhalten. Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 1700 Schlichter Halbleinenband der Zeit.
