Small splits neatly stuck at tail of spine, slight wear and tiny splits at head of spine, corners slightly rubbed, a horrid child has scraped the face of Towlocks on the upper cover with the point of a compass or some such (this plate repeated inside), neat inscription on blank leaf before half-title, contents otherwise bright and clean. A very good copy. First published in the Dumpy series by Grant Richards in 1903. When Grant Richards filed for bankruptcy in 1905, the publishing rights to the Dumpy books were sold to Chatto and Windus who reissued this title in their Sambo series, our title being No. 9.
