Marbled endpapers, with later flyleaves, toned and brittle. Edges darkened. Armorial bookplate and Arthur Mullen bookplate to front endpapers in each volume; ownership name and small drawing of Clara Tice, the artist, to front flyleaf of first volume. An illustrated edition, first thus, with engraved titles, plates, head- and tail-pieces after Eisen, Cochin, and others. A beautifully printed and illustrated edition [Gordon 505] this copy quite large, with wide margins. Large 8vo.
