Substantial legal document submitted to the Japanese Government by representatives of Allied Prisoners of War of the Japanese in World War Two. Japanese text. This was done in Japan and Syd Tavender, Vice Chairman of the Japanese Labour Camp Survivors of Great Britain, was one of the delegation that presented the document to the Japanese Government in Tokyo in 1995. The document, of which there must have been a small number of copies and this is one, which detailed the suffering of the POW's sought to obtain an apology and compensation. Unpaginated c.250 pages, folding map of some of the camps. Signed by Syd Tavender and tipped in additional 4pp document again in Japanese and dated 1995 and also signed by Syd Tavender. Interesting document belonging to one of the delegation and reflecting the difficulty in getting the Japanese authorities to take full responsibilty for the war crimes against all Prisoners of War in WWII. Stapled covers, in very good condition. Signed by Author(s).
