Ottmar von Angerer (16.09.1850 in Geisfeld - 12. 1.1918 München) studierte Medizin an der Universität Würzburg. Nach Abschluss seines Studiums arbeitete er als Hochschullehrer und Chirurg, später Generalarzt wurde; der bayerische Prinzregent Luitpold machte ihn zu seinem Leibarzt, ebenso wie später König Ludwig III. von Bayern. Die von Nepomuk von Nußbaum initiierte und konzipierte Chirurgische Universitätsklinik an der heutigen Nußbaumstraße in München wurde durch von Angerer am 25. April 1891 vollendet und bis zu seinem Tod im Jahre 1918 geleitet.
