Age-toned, short tears at the folds, pencil notation ("Kent State Library, Kent, Ohio") and 2 "Sample Copy Please Subscribe" stamps on the upper wrap. 20 pp. This was a short-lived (1970-1972) feminist newspaper. Tabloid. Condition: Good. Tabloid newspaper format. 20 pp. Photos and illustrations throughout. Single issue of this newspaper devoted to women's liberation, although covering the movement from cultural and political viewpoints. Of note is a lengthy essay commenting on life in two communes as experienced by the woman writing the article. She shatters any illusions of hippie communes being more enlightened (at least those she lived in), highlighting rampant sexism and male hierarchy that replicated the rest of the world. (For those men with fragile egos, we suggest you skip this article). GOOD condition. General toning and a faint fold crease present. Minor soiling, wrinkling and creasing.…

Paperback. Condition: Good+. None. First. Rare. Softcover 8vo, 255 pages: this scarce anthology is from the library of the late great Jill Johnston (1929-2010), critic, radical lesbian feminist and champion of the avant-garde, and bears her distinctive stamp in blue ink on copyright page which reads "Write first. then live." J.J. Good + only condition with some soiling & scuffs to covers, rubbing & edge-wear especially to spine where there's a small tear along spine; brittle covers. All that said, interior pages are unmarred. From the copyright page (there is no title page): This anthology originally was to be published by the Everywoman Publishing Company, a small women's group, and excerpts from everywoman newspaper were to be included; but lack of funds made the first impossible, and an abrupt refusal by the EVERYWOMAN staff made the second impracticable. Contributors include Evelyn Reeds. Linda Elden, Robin Morgan, Laura Murra, Alta, Gayle Louie, Martha Atkins, Helen Victry and many others.…
