Hardcover. Condition: new. Hardcover. The American photographer Francesca Woodman (1958-1981) created a body of fascinating photographic works in a few intense years before her premature death. Her oeuvre has been the object of numerous in-depth studies and major exhibitions in recent years, and her photographs have inspired artists all over the world. Woodman's photographs explore gender, representation, sexuality and body. Her production includes several self-portraits, using herself and her friends as models. The figures are often placed behind furniture and other interior elements; occasionally, the images are blurred in such a way that their identity is hidden from the viewer. The intimate nature of the subject matter is enhanced by the small formats. Woodman worked in unusual settings such as derelict buildings, using mirrors and glass to evoke surrealist and occasionally claustrophobic moods. Moderna Museet will present some hundred photographs by Francesca Woodman, with a selection from the series and themes she explored. The exhibition is produced by Moderna Museet in association with Betty and George Woodman and the Estate of Francesca Woodman. Alongside this exhibition, Moderna Museet will present a compilation of photography from the same period from its collection, to show Francesca Woodman in context and expand the perspective on her oeuvre to the public. Featuring rarely seen photographs by Francesca Woodman, this catalogue accompanies the exhibition at the Moderna Museet. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Softcover. Condition: Sehr gut. Z : Flexicover, 192 pages with 50 color illustrations . - The legendary curator Pontus Hultén (1924 2006) worked at Moderna Museet in Stockholm between 1958 and 1973. In 1960 he was appointed director. It was in this role that he built the collection and the museum s international reputation, with exhibitions such as Movement in Art (1961), American Pop Art (1964), Niki de Saint-Phalle s She A Cathedral (1966) and Warhol s first European solo exhibition (1968). In 2005 Hultén donated his art collection, library and archives to Moderna Museet. Pontus Hultén and Moderna Museet: The Formative Years explores Hultén s practice as a curator and director. In addition to new essays, the book contains archival photographs and documents as well as a previously unpublished 1962 text by Hultén outlining his ideas on how an art museum should run.

Dek. förlagsband. Fint skick. Lund, Bokförlaget Signum, 2003. 204 sid. Rikt illustrerad, huvudsakligen i färg.
