An exceptionally scarce work, containing a manuscript of poetry from Welsh scientist and poet, Antice Evans. Signed by the author, 'Joy be with you. Antice 1989'. Dated from the inscription. With two pages loosely inserted containing the typed poem 'Plas Prof.', alongside a long, handwritten note surrounding grief and loss. The poem is dated July 1988, with the inscription possibly later, written following the death of the author's husband, the eminent biochemist Professor William Charles Evans, who died in July 1988. A collection of poetry, many of which surround nature, science, grief and family, with a final section of Welsh verses. This extremely moving anthology explores the author's attempts to reconcile the irreconcilable after suffering a bereavement.With a photograph to the title page, intended to be tipped-in, although has detached and is now loosely inserted.
