Letzte Seiten mit Tintenfleck im unteren Rand. Wendelin Thomas (geb. 1884), deutscher sozialistischer Politiker (SPD, USPD, KPD), trat 1910 in die SPD ein. Von 1914 bis 1918 nahm Thomas am Ersten Weltkrieg teil und gehörte kurz nach Ende des Krieges 1918 einem revolutionären Soldatenrat an. 1919 wurde Thomas Mitglied der USPD. Zu dieser Zeit unterhielt T. u.a. Beziehungen zu Erich Mühsam, Ernst Niekisch und Ernst Toller. Am 1. September 1919 wurde er Chefredakteur der Zeitung Volkswille, der Tageszeitung der USPD für Schwaben und Neuburg. Zu seinen Mitarbeitern bei diesem Blatt zählte auch der Dichter Bertolt Brecht, der Theaterkritiken beisteuerte. 1921 wurde der Volkswille wegen aufreizender" und die Ordnung gefährdender" Artikel vom Staatskommissar für Schwaben und Neuburg verboten, Thomas wurde als Chefredakteur verhaftet und zu einer Gefängnisstrafe verurteilt. Zwei stark anti-militaristische und anti-chauvinistische Schriften der direkten Nachkriegszeit, entstanden unter den erdrückenden Eindrücken der Schlachtfelder des Ersten Weltkrieges! Insbesondere der Titel v. Thomas wird selten angeboten!
