Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. This G+ quality likely second (rather than first) format book, as per Mattson & Davis, was copyrighted in 1918 and was published by Grosset & Dunlap; it is 7-5/8" tall with 218 numbered pages of text followed by 2 unnumbered pages of ads. This book is square, reasonably clean, free of edge dings with all four corners lightly bumped; the head and heel of the spine are bumped with fraying at both ends; the bottom edges have a moderate amount of wear. The spine is fairly clean and not faded; all the lettering and the oval image are intact. The front panel is clean and has little wear. Both front and rear panels have dots where the paint seems to have dissolved, exposing the threads of the binding. Except for an inked name and address, done twice on the front paste down and then blotted on the FFEP, the interior is free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and paper damage of any type. Both hinges are strong and undamaged in any fashion. The text paper is mildly toned and very flexible. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book. It has a frontis on coated paper. The list at the rear of the book lists the first 27 titles in this series.
