Dr. Arnold Aron Barth (18901957), German-born Israeli banker and Zionist leader, was the general manager of Bank Leumi and future governor of the Bank of Israel, the Israeli successor of the Anglo-Palestine Bank. The Basel Program was the first manifesto of the Zionist movement adopted at the First Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland in 1897. In 1951 it was replaced by the Jerusalem Program. The Mizrachi (acronym for Merkaz Ruhani lit. Religious centre) is a religious Zionist organization founded in 1902 in Vilnius at a world conference of religious Zionists called by Rabbi Yitzchak Yaacov Reines.
