Dujols n° 291, déc. 1912 : « (Rarissime). Ce magnifique ouvrage [.] qui a complètement disparu de la circulation, est le chef-d'oeuvre d'Aroux. Il constitue [.] la clef absolue du Gnosticisme, de l'Albigéisme, de la doctrine des Templiers et des Rose-Croix, et de leur résultante : la Franc- Maçonnerie. Voici, d'ailleurs, les conclusions de l'auteur lui-même : « Dans la Comédie du Dante s'accomplit cette mystérieuse fusion de trois éléments d'une énergie vivace, également hostiles à l'Eglise romaine, à savoir : la Massenie albigeoise, les débris du Temple et le parti impérialiste ou Gibelin ; triple opposition qui, transformée désormais, ne constituera plus qu'un seul corps sous le nom de Franc-Maçonnerie et ne cessera de porter, tantôt dans l'ombre, tantôt en plein jour, les coups les plus redoutables au Catholicisme ». La raison de cet antagonisme remonterait aux origines de l'Eglise Chrétienne. On lit, en effet, pages 1083 et suivantes du tome II, que Dante et les Fidèles d'Amour se rattachaient, comme les Francs-Maçons du reste, à saint Jean-Baptiste, Grand-Maître des Esséniens et le souverain dispensateur de la Lumière (voir n° 98 du présent catalogue). C'est là, sans doute, ce qui aura donné lieu à la légende du fameux Prêtre-Jean lumière de l'Orient, qu'on a cherché partout sans jamais le trouver nulle part. Il paraitrait même que saint Benoît ouvrit une loge Johannique sur le point précis où l'on avait autrefois élevé un temple à Apollon Dieu-Lumière. On trouvera encore, çà et là, des aperçus curieux sur Melchisédech [.] et le rôle que joue ce personnage dans certains grades maçonniques. Outre les commentaires qui accompagnent pas à pas le texte de la Comédie, le tome II comprend 470 pages de notes en petit texte, et dans lesquelles se trouve renfermé, en termes clairs, l'ésotérisme complet de l'oeuvre du Dante. De plus, le tome II contient encore de précieux documents tels que : La topographie du Catharisme. Doctrines et rites religieux des Cathares ou Albigeois. Analyse du poème de Tristan de Léonois (origine et symbolisme du Saint-Graal), etc. Il est inutile d'insister sur l'extrême importance de la Clef du langage symbolique des Fidèles d'Amour ; elle donne l'explication de tous les mots symboliques mentionnés dans la Comédie, et devient « un passe-partout à l'aide duquel il sera possible d'obtenir accès dans maints sanctuaires ». Selon E. Aroux, Dante était- pasteur de l'Eglise albigeoise dans la ville de Florence, affilié à l'Ordre du Temple et il peut être considéré comme le véritable fondateur de la Franc- Maçonnerie moderne ! Ajoutons encore cette curieuse coïncidence : « Pétrarque, l'Arioste, Le Tasse, Boccace, Michel-Ange, Gravina, Marsile Ficin, et d'autres Platoniciens, étaient initiés et faisaient partie de la Société de la Truelle. ; nos travaux, dit Aroux, pourront servir de clef à ces auteurs ».
