No Binding. Condition: Very Good. A framed set of 4 Green Highlander salmon flies tied by noted Canadian angler & fly tier, J. Clovis Arseneault. There are 4 examples of this pattern in sunken mounts and triple matted within a glass covered wood frame measuring 7.75 x 14.50 inches. Hand-lettered with fly name & tier below. In pocket on reverse side, a letter of authentication, signed by Martin Keane, attributing the flies to be authentic Arseneault ties. Framed by Vicki Ryder, Hopkinton, NH. with her signature at bottom. A small spot of rubbing to left edge of frame o/w in near fine condition. "J. C. Arseneault was born in Black Cape, Province of Quebec on May 1, 1902. On November 12,1934, he tied his first salmon fly and his love for fly tying began. He opened his shop at Atholville, New Brunswick in 1929. In the summer of 1949, the venerable Rusty Rat fly was originated through the collaborative efforts of Joseph Pulitzer II and J. Clovis Arseneault. This internationally known fly tier has been featured in many magazine articles including: LIFE magazine in 1954, front cover of the Atlantic Salmon Journal in 1971, and Atlantic Salmon Journal - Summer 1995. In January 1982, J. Clovis Arseneault was elected to the Mitchell Canadian Fishing Hall of Fame. He died in 1980." (Cushner Collection).
