"Decker is one of the most unusual detectives any novelist has dreamed up." - Washington Post. "Amos Decker is the Memory Man. Following a football-related head injury that altered his personality, Decker is now unable to forget even the smallest detail - as much a curse as it is a blessing. And in #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci's gripping new thriller, Decker's life might be about to change again . Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The Rust Belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes - obscure Bible verses, odd symbols - have the police stumped. Amos Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex's sister and her family. It's a bleak place: a former mill and mining town with a crumbling economy and rampant opioid addiction. Decker has only been there a few hours when he stumbles onto the scene of a horrific double murder. Then the next killing hits sickeningly close to home. And with the lives of people he cares about suddenly hanging in the balance, Decker begins to realize that the recent string of deaths may be only one small piece of a much larger scheme - with consequences that will reach far beyond Baronville. Decker, with his singular talents, may be the only one who can crack this bizarre case. Only this time - when one mistake could cost him everything - Decker finds that his previously infallible memory may not be so trustworthy after all." - from the inner front and rear jacket flaps. Signed by Author(s).

Soft cover. Condition: Good. A form of Robotic Art!?but not really. An Analog Curve-Drawing Machine! J.H. Vincent and C.W. Jude, "The Duplex Harmonograph" in the Philosophical Magazine, series 6, vol 29, no 172, April 1915; pp 490-514 in the issue of pp 433-624, with two plates. There is one large folding plate that accompanies the Vincent/Jude article that shows the great intricacy and beautiful geometric designs that this instrument produced. This is the monthly issue, extracted froma larger bound volume. GOOD condition. The instrument itself seems relatively simple compared to the figures it produces converting combined harmonic motions into curves drawn by a pen on paper. The instrument is described and the process explained. The harmonograph doesn't make its first appearance here as it appears in the mid-late 19th c., though the Vincent/Jude instrument seems to have been a great leap forward in capacity and instrument erudition. "A duplex harmonograph is an analog, pendulum-driven drawing machine invented in the 19th century (notably by J.H. Vincent and C.W. Jude?the paper offered here) designed to produce intricate geometric, abstract images known as Lissajous figures. It typically utilizes two pendulums to create complex, 3D-like, and often multi-colored, swirling patterns."--Wikipedia BTW no mention of this work or the harmonograph in general in Henderson's "The Fourth Dimension and Non-Euclidean Geometry in Modern Art"--I thought it might have made it as a mention as a mathematical experience that is also a work of art though not much recognized as the later, though not as non-E geometry. I'd think of it sort of like Jouffret's "Traite Elementaire de Geometrie a Quartre Dimensions et Introduction a la Geometrie a n-Dimensions" (1903) and his "Melanges de Geometrie a Quatre Dimensions" (1906). Admittedly we're well into modernism and non-representational art by 1915 but still this seems worth a look-see.

Unbound. Condition: Good. Approximately 9 by 12 inch folder with 6 8 ½ by 11 inch sheets of paper and a folded George Eastman House Newsletter. Folder with color artwork, a Xerox 6500 print by Erin Goodwin, on the front cover. A collection of handouts describing the agenda for the November 10-11, 1979 symposium at the George Eastman House titled "Electroworks." This symposium and art exhibit focused on work by artists using copy machines, Xerox and other electromechanical reproductive machines to create art. The symposium featured many lectures on creating art, the preservation of the art, the use of Xerox and electrostatic printing and other subjects. Included in the folder are itineraries, a map and list of nearby restaurants, a newsletter with an article on Electroworks, etc. The exhibit itself was the first of its kind, but according to Artforum, the art did not live up to its expectations. GOOD condition. Some wrinkling, toning and creasing to the folder, with scuffing along the edges. Some of the inserts with ink notes written on them.
