[30), typographic illustrations of tombstones for each of the two characters; printed on a high-quality, watermarked (Arches France) paper. Tan cloth spine and sides, with titling on the spine in red, decorated tan paper over boards, red-orange endpapers. (The upper margin of the front red-orange paste-down/endpaper shows a rust mark from a paperclip), light, age-related tanning to the spine. Overall, a near fine copy. Rare book. These are children's stories written by American political figure and economist, Arthur A. Ballantine (born in Oberlin, Ohio in 1883), and the tales have some satirical overtones.
