Large quarto, 172pp + xxxvi pp, advertisements for hotels etc, plates, photographs and line drawings in the text, red cloth boards with titles and art nouveau decoration in gilt blind. The contents are in very good condition, with the front & rear hinges exposed and the textblock a little loose in the covers and a signature to the half title page. The rear flyleaf is missing. The covers are in very good condition, they are a little rubbed at the edges & corners and there is a small closed tear to the top of the spine. Overall a nice copy of an uncommon book with chapters on the Norfolk resorts of Aldeburgh, Cromer, Felixstowe, Hunstanton, Mundesley, Sheringham, Southwold and so on. The photographs & illustrations were contributed by a number of individuals, including Payne Jennings and Arthur Rackham. Dates to around 1900, the map of the Great Eastern railway shows the line from North Walsham to Mundesley as complete (it was opened in 1898) but the rest of the Norfolk & Suffolk Joint Railway as under construction (it was completed in 1906).
