Brown endpapers with the owner's bookplates to the pastedowns. Quite heavy staining to the first 150 or so pages in the first volume with some warping to these pages and page 15 is detached with creasing to the edges. Staining and warping at the back of this volume as well. Volume II is in better shape with only some spotting in places. Both volumes have quite heavy spotting to the half-title page and frontispece and also quite heavy spotting to all the illustrations. First printing.
