He was finally tracked down and arrested by FBI agents in a Manhattan hotel room on July 23, 1946. While exact federal sentencing records from 1946 are not broadly digitized, he faced a massive stack of multiple multi-count federal indictments across multiple states (including Massachusetts, North Carolina, and California) for violating the Federal Impersonation Statute.
