U.S.A. in gilt on the lower front cover, no other markings. The jacket is fairly rare as… this is only the third copy I've handled with one. The author served in the West in the 1870-80s, with Mackenzie, Crook, and was stationed with various units and traveled many places, (Camp Supply, Dodge City, Arizona, Montana, Texas Fort Concho, Fort Richardson etc. Short mention of Custer and the Little Big Horn. Also covers the Spanish American War, WWI and up to the 1920s. O'Keefe 79, "Covers the transporting of the Seventh Cavalry wounded by litters from the Custer Battlefield to the mouth of the Little Big Horn River, where the steamship Far West waited to transport them back to Fort Abraham Lincoln.".
