Moderate edgewear and dust soiling to unclipped dust jacket, with small tears to edges and extremities, sunning to spine, and shallow chipping to head and tail of spine. Orange ribbed cloth over boards, with upper board and spine lettered in dark gray. Discoloration to upper board around lettering. Mild edgewear to binding, with bumping to head of spine. Binding is firm and sound. Pages are clean and unmarked. A very presentable first American printing of the work of Count Eduard von Keyserling (18551918), in which "Count Hunther von Tarniff maries Beate. He wants her to bide in his castlelike a thoroughbred Arabian breeder in a stable. As for himself, Gunther goes for excitement to a glamorous girl of the peasantry, and later becomes involved with Mareile, a beautiful singer." The result is a memorable drama of electric conflict and high emotional tension," also including two short stories, "My Love Affair" and "Father and Son," by von Keyserling.

Including the Mayer Gallery invitation to the 1967 Pol Bury show, with colourful covers. Very good indeed in slightly used, close very good dust jacket, with 3cm closed tear on the top edge but no loss and faint surface marking. Signedes.
