A lovely near fine copy of the scarce First Edition original publishers cloth and yellow coated endpapers Cr.8vo. xvi. 320pps Tissue guarded frontispiece portrait.Aspden was a journalist on the Nottingham Guardian and the Preston Herald where he became editor. He is frequently mentioned by Anthony Hewitson in his Diaries [ Hobbs… vol 1 [18651887] who states that in 1879 he was in a lunatic asylum. A short subscribers list includes several MP's including George Baden-Powell brother of Robert Baden Powell. Widely available in various digitised forms the original is scarce.
