Hard back binding in publisher's original scarlet cloth covers, black title and author lettering to the spine [worn away] and to the upper panel. 8vo. 7½'' x 5¼''. Contains 173 [iii] printed pages of text. Bookplate removed from inside the front paste down, foxing to the closed text block edges, a little bubbling of the cloth to the gutters, ghosting to the end papers and in Good condition, no dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A. LITERATURE 1900-1925.

Octavo, pp. [1-8] 9-173 [174-176: ads], original red bevel-edged cloth, front and spine panels stamped in black. First edition. Collects four short stories ("'Orace," "The Power of the Eye," "Sambo's Ghost," "Wisions") all told in working-class dialect, usually in the setting of a pub, in one case involving some nautical matter, in most cases invoking the supernatural for comic effect. A better than the average Drane book. Mild foxing on edges of text block and first and last few leaves, cloth a bit dust-soiled, particularly on spine panel, otherwise a very good copy of a rare book.
