Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Paris: R. A. Correa, 1937. 8vo, unpaginated, bound in publisher's original printed wraps. First edition of this work, as told through Gea (George) Augsbourg's line drawings, of Lifar's life from childhood prodigy to one of the 20th century's greatest male ballet leads. This is a VG- copy, with curling to upper corners of wraps and text block, spine heavily chafed with much of the lettering obliterated; splitting to lower spine joints; small mend to crown of spine; spotting to front wrap, with soiling and two small dark ink stains to rear wrap; crimping to wrap edges, but still a sound and pleasing copy overall, one of 20 examples printed on Lafuma. Scarce.
