"Erste Buchausgabe. ? Sammlung von fünf Reden, die der Erfurter Regierungspräsident Gebel (1772-1860) in Festversammlungen zur Feier des Geburtstages des preuß. Königs, seines Landesherrn, in der Akademie gemeinnütziger Wissenschaften und in der Loge "Carl zu den drei Adlern" in den Jahren 1816 bis 1819 gehalten hat. Die Publikation wurde umgehend von Maximilian Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Grävell (1781-1860) in der Jenaischen Allg. Literaturzeitung ausführlich rezensiert. Er betont, dass er (unter dem Kürzel "Rvl") "in mehreren einzelnen Stücken der ganz entgegengesetzten Ansicht mit dem, was dem Vf. rühmens- und empfehlenswerth erschienen ist" sei. Grävell war ebenfalls Staatsbeamter als es 1818 wegen freimütiger Ansichten und Minister-Beleidigungen zum Prozess kam. Er saß eine sechsmonatige Freiheitsstrafe ab und wurde mit einer Unfähigkeitserklärung aus dem Amt entfernt. ?
