Als einer der entschiedensten Suedtiroler Gegner des Nationalsozialismus musste er 1943 vor der Verfolgung durch die SS in die Schweiz fluechten. Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - August Pichler (1898-1963) war Rechtsanwalt in Bozen. Als Gegner des Nationalsozialismus gehörte er dem engeren Kreis der Dableiber an und trat entschieden gegen die Option auf. 1943 musste Pichler vor der Verfolgung durch die SS in die Schweiz flüchten. Von 1945-1946 war er Südtirols einziger Vertreter in der römischen Consulta Nazionale und setzte sich dort für die Rechte der deutsch- und ladinisch-sprachigen Minderheit ein. Vor kurzem sind die verloren geglaubten Tagebuchaufzeichnungen aufgetaucht. Das am 31. März 1944 begonnene Tagebuch entstand aus der Unmittelbarkeit des Exilalltags. Der Text ist ein emotionales Wechselbad, bestimmt durch die nervenauf-reibende Belastung der ständigen Orts- und Lagerwechsel und die ständige Sorge um die zurückgelassene Familie. 'In seiner Knappheit', so schreibt der Historiker Hans Heiss im Vorwort, 'konzentriert es exemplarisch die Erfahrungsmuster eines späten Alttirolers, der seine konservativen Wertvorstellungen und seinen Heimatsinn gegen den Druck des Nationalsozialismus, des totalitären Italiens und trotz der sozialen Ausgrenzung durch viele Landsleute bewahrte und festigte.'.
