Piccolo difetto all'angolo basso del frontespizio. Forellino di tarlo da pagina 177 a 374, non fastidioso ma che in una cinquantina di pagine si sviluppa per un centimetro nel testo toccando qualche lettera mentre da pagina 375 a 480 si sviluppa sempre in modo assai breve nel margine bianco esterno. Bellissime testatine e finalini ornati. Prima edizione di questo scritto teologico-legale dedicato al legame fra la le leggi, i peccati ed i peccatori opera del noto professore dell'università di Vienna e dal 1792 vescovo di Capua, Agostino Gervasio nato nel piccolo paese di Montorio nei Frentani in provincia di Campobasso. Non comune, due soli esemplari censiti in ICCU. A parte i difetti sopra riportati in buone condizioni.

Pergament Gervasio Augustin, ein Neapolitaner von Geburt und dem Orden der Augustiner-Eremiten angehörig, wurde unter der Kaiserin Maria Theresia gleichzeitig mit Gazzaniga an die Wiener Universität berufen (1760), um eines der durch Enthebung der Jesuiten vom Universitätslehramte erledigten theologischen Lehrfächer zu übernehmen. G. hatte sich mit seinem Collegen in das Lehrfach der Theologia speculativa derart zu theilen, daß ersterem die dogmatische, ihm aber die scholastische Theologie, d. h. jene Partien, welche den Hauptstoff zu legistisch-canonistischen und casuistischen Fragen und Erörterungen darboten, zufielen. G. lehrte nur einige Jahre neben Gazzaniga, und war bereits im Anfange des folgenden Decenniums durch seinen Ordensgenossen und Nachfolger Bertieri ersetzt. Beide hinterließen Schriften über dieselben theologischen Materien De legibus", De peccatis et peccatorum poenis", De incarnatione" und De sacramentis", welche zu je vier Bänden, jene Gervasio's Wien 176486, Bertieri's 177174 erschienen. Der Kopfschnitt ist leicht verschmutzt, Fußschnitt mit Regalspuren. Beide Vorsätze am Gelenk mit starken Wurmfraßspuren; das vordere Innengelenk ist fast auf-, das hintere angebrochen. Innendeckel mit Archiveinkleber, der fliegende Vorsatz ist lose und trägt handschriftl. Vermerk. Die Seiten sind bis auf Kleinigkeiten sauber und gut.
