Publié originellement sous le titre "Mémoires de la cour d'Espagne" (Paris, Barbin, 1690), puis "Relation du voyage d'Espagne" chez le même éditeur en 1691, cet ouvrage nous livre les multiples intrigues qui se nouaient à la cour espagnole au temps de Charles II. Mais cette relation est aussi l'occasion de nous livrer de rocambolesques aventures avec les autochtones lors de son passage à San-Sébastien pour rejoindre Madrid. Parlant le castillan, la comtesse sera présentée à Madrid aux deux Reines d'Espagne Marie-Anne d'Autriche et Marie Louise d'Orléans, et sera donc au contact avec les moeurs de la Cour, dont elle nous livre souvent un portrait pour le moins extraordinaire.

Still overall a clean, tight, and attractive little set. TEXT IN FRENCH. D'Aunoy was known for her literary fairy tales told in the conversational manner of the salon. First published in 1697, she called her works contes des fees (fairy tales), which generally became the term used for the genre.
