Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Konnte Ihren Wunsch nicht früher erfüllen, da mir die Karte erst heute nachgesandt wurde [.]". - Appointed professor at the "Königliche Akademie für graphische Künste und Buchgewerbe" in Leipzig in 1907, Kolb turned the Academy's etching department into an exemplary school. His oeuvre included illustrations for the magazine "Jugend" as well as bookplates, stamps and etching cycles. - Postmark on verso showing through; a few small ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application.

Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - A founding member of the Vienna Secession, Hänisch made his debut at the 1891 annual exhibition of the Wiener Künstlerhaus with his oil painting "Klostergarten im Herbst". He exhibited his works throughout Germany as well as in Rome, Amsterdam and at the 1900 Paris World Fair. - A few small ink spots and a small brown stain near lower right corner; traces of small folds near corners. His preferred subjects included Lake Starnberg, the Isar valley and his native Carinthia, as well as Southern Tyrol and Upper Italy. He regularly exhibited his works at the Munich Glaspalast and became an honorary member of the Munich Academy in 1883. - Traces of postal stamps; traces of a small fold near lower right corner. Große ORIGINAL-RADIERUNG (gesamt 15,5 x 32,3 cm), auf dem rechten Unterrand mit Bleistift eigenhändig signiert W. THÖNY MOTIV : Kriegstross, mit Wagen und Pferden, im Vordergrund zieht ein laufender Soldat sein Pferd hinter sich her. ( 1917 hielt sich Thöny an der italienischen Front im Tonale-Abschnitt auf. Seine oftmals sehr großflächigen Darstellungen der Kämpfe des Schützenregiments Nr. 3 wurden zum Teil auf Farbpostkarten zugunsten des Witwen- und Waisenfonds des Regimentes reproduziert , wovon sich heute einige im Stadtmuseum Graz befinden.
