Add to basketPaperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book provides an in-depth look at the causes of the American Civil War. The author argues that the war was not primarily about slavery, as is commonly believed, but was instead a conflict between the free labor and slave labor systems. The book begins by providing a brief overview of the history of slavery in the United States. The author argues that the institution of slavery was a major factor in the development of the American economy and society. He also argues that the growing tensions between the North and the South over slavery were a major cause of the Civil War. The author then goes on to examine the political and ideological causes of the war. He argues that the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860 was a major turning point in the history of slavery and that it led directly to the secession of the Southern states. The author also discusses the role of other factors, such as the rise of abolitionism and the growth of sectionalism, in the outbreak of the war. The book concludes by discussing the impact of the Civil War on American society. The author argues that the war was a major turning point in American history and that it led to the abolition of slavery and the establishment of a more unified and egalitarian nation. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
