Condition: Very Good. None. Animals on a fullpage blue background with titlepage + 20 leaves each cut across the figures to make amusing impossible animals. 19.5 by 13.0cm cover depicts a top-hatted monkey within an orange background holding an open book on a table with an ink stand and pens. Each of the pages within the book are cut horizontally to mix the figures making amusing bizarre animals. All of the animals are on a blue background and have small touches of colour. There is a short tear without loss to the lower half of the first illustration but no other flaps have any fingering or marks. The pages are illustrated on the right-hand side with the verso of all the pages blank. The front over has a small edge chip and the back card cover has a small chip to the fore-edge of the upper corner and there is slight edge rubbing to both covers otherwise a very neat tidy book by the famous German illustrator. *First publication of this flapbook by Meggendorfer (according to Ries, Wilhelminische Zeit p55/3, p145 & pp714,19 cited in Geisenheyner 2014 catalogue). 1 volume.
