This study was conducted to investigate the impact of…the implementation of the Free Wireless Connection (FWC) in IIUM, towards the students' communication climate. The study was based on the assumption that the usage of FWC will positively influence the communication climate and its dimensions. The data was collected from 300 undergraduate students to test four main hypotheses. The findings showed that there were no significant differences on the students' FWC usage and the level of their communication climate based on their gender, nationality, and academic division. However, the FWC implementation dominantly creates higher awareness among students compared to their perception, attitude, adoption, and satisfaction. And lastly, students' FWC usage positively influences their overall communication climate. It would appear that the FWC usage can predict students' communication climate, where higher FWC usage leads to higher level of communication climate. 108 pp. Englisch.

Sin embargo, la implementación de FWC crea predominantemente una mayor conciencia entre los estudiantes en comparación con su percepción, actitud, adopción y satisfacción. Les données ont été recueillies auprès de 300 étudiants de premier cycle pour tester quatre hypothèses principales. Les résultats ont montré qu'il n'y avait pas de différences significatives dans l'utilisation du FWC par les étudiants et le niveau de leur climat de communication en fonction de leur sexe, nationalité et division académique. Cependant, la mise en oeuvre du FWC crée principalement une plus grande prise de conscience parmi les étudiants par rapport à leur perception, leur attitude, leur adoption et leur satisfaction. Enfin, l'utilisation du FWC par les élèves influence positivement leur climat de communication global. Die Ergebnisse zeigten, dass es keine signifikanten Unterschiede in Bezug auf die FWC-Nutzung der Schüler und das Niveau ihres Kommunikationsklimas aufgrund ihres Geschlechts, ihrer Nationalität und ihrer akademischen Aufteilung gab. Die FWC-Implementierung schafft jedoch vorwiegend ein höheres Bewusstsein bei den Schülern im Vergleich zu ihrer Wahrnehmung, Einstellung, Akzeptanz und Zufriedenheit. O estudo partiu do pressuposto de que o uso do FWC irá influenciar positivamente o clima de comunicação e suas dimensões. Os dados foram coletados de 300 alunos de graduação para testar quatro hipóteses principais. Os resultados mostraram que não houve diferenças significativas no uso do FWC dos alunos e no nível de seu clima de comunicação com base em seu gênero, nacionalidade e divisão acadêmica. No entanto, a implementação do FWC cria predominantemente uma consciência maior entre os alunos em comparação com sua percepção, atitude, adoção e satisfação. E, por último, o uso do FWC pelos alunos influencia positivamente seu clima geral de comunicação.
