Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 42 pages. 2001 reprint of a scarce book originally published in 1913, under the pseudonym Raymond Baert. This is a translation into German. A humorous book of sketches with captions that tells the story of a Frenchman who takes up golf on a whim and becomes hooked. Sadly, Bollaert fought for France in the Great War and was killed in the Ardennes before he could return to play more golf. We specialize in golf books.

Written by the French painter and poster artist Raymond Bollaert (pseudonym Baert), this is an amusing story of the discovery of the ancient game by a typical bourgeois. Inscribed and signed by the publisher Michael Flannery at the top of the Foreword page: "July 2006. For David (Stirk), With appreciation for your collection and appreciation for your enjoyable hospitality." Fine, unmarked copy. Covers protected in mylar. Size: Oblong 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall.
