Peter Augustine Baines, Bishop of Siga, became a well-known figure in the early nineteenth-century due to his sermons, which attracted not only Catholics, but also Protestants. This scarce pamphlet contains the substance of a sermon preached at the dedication of the Catholic chapel at Bradford on July 27th, 1825.An early edition of 1826. Disbound. Externally sound with some shelf wear, edge wear, and chipping, with a puncture mark to the front wrap, affecting the text of the title and the upper margin of all leaves. With some minor creasing to the rear wrap as well as some soiling to the externals. Internally, firmly bound. With the odd minor mark and occasional faint minor spotting, otherwise the pages are fairly clean throughout. Good. book.
