This charming little booklet originally formed part of a larger portfolio type book called ''Marionettes - A Toy Theatre Presenting the Play 'This Way to Animal Land'''. The folder included this booklet, a toy theatre with 4 different scenery sets and 18 marionette puppets, all printed on thick paper to cut out. This little booklet provides the narrative story and the stage dirrection for the play which concerns such characters as the Man in the Moon, the Great Bear, the Little Bear, Puss in Boots, Mummie, the White Rabbit and Billy Goat Gruff. It tells the tall of a little girl called Sally who travels to the magical world of Animal Land with her cat Muffy, via the stellar constellations of the Great Bear and Little Bear. Once in Animal Land they meet various characters from nursery rhymes. At the back is a panel to keep a record of when and where the play was performed and to whom. Scarce.
