Hardcover. Condition: Fair. LIPPINCOTT'S PRONOUNCING GAZETTEER. Tan vellum covers with raised bands on spine. Red label on spine with gold lettering which is cracked and worn. Covers exhibit heavy wear, chipping, bumping and soiling to edges and corners. Heavy wear and soiling on hinges . Heavy chipping and wear on spine ends. Heavy wear and sunning on spine with the gold on the raised bands barely discernable. Heavy shelf wear and soiling on covers. For a book this size and age the hinges are surprisingly solid. Light soiling and yellowing to marbled page ends. Heavy yellowing and foxing to the edges of the inside front and back covers. Text is yellowed due to age. Otherwise clean and unmarked. Presentation inscription to the previous owner on the ffep. Includes a full etymological vocabulary at the end of the book. "With the most recent and authentic information respecting the countries, islands, rivers, mountains, cities, towns, &c. in every portion of the globe. Invaluable as a reference to the geography (political and physical), commerce, education, religion, flora and fauna, and attitudes of the times. Very good.
