Mit ihnen stellte sich ihr Autor in die Tradition der rumänischen Surrealisten, aber mitunter glaubt man auch den fröhlich-unglücklichen Catull herauszuhören oder den frechen Archilochos, der einer der ersten Dichter der westlichen Welt war. Als Banescu sich 2009 das Leben nahm, widmete ihm Nora Iuga einen ergreifenden Nachruf. Oskar Pastiors Übersetzungen sind in den Jahren seit 2002 entstanden. In seiner Auswahl erscheint dieser Band in doppelter Weise postum.Constantin Virgil Banescu wurde am 26. Mai 1982 in Târgoviste, Rumänien, geboren und nahm sich am 12. August 2009 dort das Leben. Er studierte Kommunikation und Public Relations in Bukarest und debütierte 2000 mit dem Gedichtband 'Câinele, femeia si ocheada' (Der Hund, die Frau und die Liebäugler). 2002 folgte der Band 'Floarea cu o singura petal' (Die Blüte mit einem Kelchblatt). Er erhielt u.a. den Preis des Bukarester Schriftstellerverbandes sowie den Hermann-Lenz-Förderpreis.
