Xlib: White ink call no. on front cover, ink stamp of the Library of the Orleans Parish Medical Society on the front pastedown and title page, ink no. written on title page, remains of pouch removed from rear pastedown and of date due slip removed from rear flyleaf. Lots of library markings, but otherwise Good. First Edition. The second title page (p. [3]) states: "Series Number Two. Auspices of the Wayne County Medical Society Detroit, Michigan, 1923." Contains three lectures on insulin, two by MacLeod and one by Banting. MacLeod's lectures are "The Pancreas in Its Relation to Digestion and Metabolism of Carbohydrates--Historical " and "Experimental Results from Insulin". Banting's lecture is "The Experimental Work upon Insulin. Its Use in Diabetes". In the year these lectures were delivered, Frederick G. Banting and J. J. R. MacLeod shared the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1923 "for the discovery of insulin".…
